Don’t Let Your Guard Down!

We won a little victory on Tuesday but don’t let that fool us into complacency, the battle has just begun and we won’t quit. How many years has it been since prayer was taken from the schools, it was 1963 I believe. Since that time the morals of our nation have gone downhill.

We say how great we are, how smart and brag of our accomplishments. Computers, cell phones, and all the other technology man has invented and made.

And now, we are a nation of beggars, we want the government to take care of us. I remember reading about another country, they wanted change too. Their friends to the North were having it pretty good it seemed so they decided to let that that country take over. They invited the ruler there to come, elected him by 98% of the vote! That was 1938 the ruler was Hitler and things got better, for a while.

Here is an excerpt from the story by Kitty Werthmann who was there. “Totalitarianism didn’t come quickly, it took 5 years from 1938 until 1943, to realize full dictatorship in Austria . Had it happened overnight, my countrymen would have fought to the last breath. Instead, we had creeping gradualism. Now, our only weapons were broom handles. The whole idea sounds almost unbelievable that the state, little by little eroded our freedom.” Read the whole story HERE.

Well now we have a muslim in power in the presidency of the USA and a congress of people that have decided to do what ever they want irregardless of the Constitution for the United States of America or the desires of the general public who elected them. So let us get rid of them and turn this around.

How, you ask? The year is 2010, we can elect all new representatives to the federal government and one third of the senators. Harry Reid from Nevada needs replaced and he has a Republican opponent that is capable and has her head screwed on right. That opponent is Sharron Angle and for you folks in Nevada I encourage to do the right thing this year and elect Sharron!

We can’t repair all the damage that has been done this last year very quickly. The debt alone that obama and his cronies have put us under is overwhelming. We have to get our priorities in order.

Lets get ourselves out of debt for one thing. How can we be free if we “owe our soul to the company store” like Tennessee Ernie Ford used to sing. I have been broke and in debt and I have been free of debt. I will take the latter. How did we do it? My wife and I covenanted together to do it. We paid things off and did not buy things just because we want them. We found if we only buy something we can pay cash for we can have more. Why is this?

Have you ever figured how much you waste on interest like for a home mortgage? But you say we need the tax deduction, whoa that means you spend $1 in interest and the government gives you back on your tax bill 50 to 70 cents for spending that dollar. That is for your home but what about the car or tv or boat or whatever else we decide we just gotta have. There is not even the tax deduction there. The Bible says in Pro 22:7 The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower becomes the lender’s slave. We decided we did not want to be slaves anymore, it has been a real blessing.

Attitude

No Root, No Fruit

Have you ever wondered why you do what you do?

One former Navy pilot tells how he was living a wilder life than he knew he should live. He decided his problem was that he was being led astray by his friends in flight training. So he arranged to finish his work in the program early and be transferred to another field nearby. Yet, it wasn’t long, he said, before he was back in the same old bars, with the same girls, just with different friends. One night out-on-the-town he wondered, “Why do I do this?” And he realized, “Because I like to.”

Before a person becomes a Christian-I mean a real Christian, not just someone who says he is-his “want-to” is broken. He is not interested in God. He is bored by church and by reading his Bible. He cannot “make” himself “want to” do right and he cannot “make” himself “want not” to do wrong. When a person is born again, God repairs his “want-to.” Even though he still feels the pull of temptation, he will have a new set of desires. He will love God and want to talk to God in prayer and see what God has to say to him in His Word, the Bible. He wants to be around other people who love God; church attendance becomes meaningful. There is a new desire to obey God.

Why do we do what we do? The answer is simple: we do what we do because of what we are. It’s like fruit trees. Apple trees bear apples, pear trees produce pears, peach trees grow peaches. The fruit is the natural result of the nature of the tree. I suppose you could tie apples to a peach tree, but that would not make it an apple tree. In the same way, adding religious activities to one’s schedule doesn’t make one a Christian. Just as the fruit of the tree naturally flows from the nature of the tree, even so the attitudes, words, and actions of our lives reveal the true nature of ourselves.

Jesus said, “Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit….Therefore, by their fruits you will know them” (Mat_7:17, Mat_7:20).

I was searching through the bible today in a program I have called E-Sword. On one side I had a book loaded called 2000+ bible illustrations and am in the Attitude chapter. I thought, “this might explain a lot of things”.

I guess this might even explain something of obama’s actions.

E-Sword by the way is a free program you can find at http://www.e-sword.net/, it has all kinds of helps, dictionaries, bibles versions, books etc.
